The community is mourning the tragic death of Madison Alford, 23, of Lena, Mississippi, who was killed in a two-boat collision on the Ross Barnett Reservoir early Sunday morning.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 1:02 a.m. in an area north of Goshen Springs in Rankin County. According to authorities, the Reservoir Police Department responded to reports of a collision involving two boats carrying a total of seven people.
Madison was pronounced deceased following the collision. Four other people were injured, while two others were reportedly not injured. People in the area reportedly rushed to assist those involved before emergency responders arrived.
